No Rest for the Fantastic

While hundreds of us were busy reuniting over in Midhurst, a select few were in Pic River from
the 14th to the 17th of September providing a Spay and Neuter Clinic.

Met by community organizer Nicole Desmoulin, our team (comprised of veterinarian Pauline
van Veen, vet techs Mariah Mason, Colin Taylor, and Mei-Linn Chuong, FTH board members
Valerie Jackson and Shellie Hill, and FTH foster Sam Desroches were absolutely spoiled by the
community as they worked 12-15 hour days performing as many surgeries as possible. The
homemade treats and Bannock dogs certainly kept them well fed!

Thanks to Nicole’s exceptional ability to run a tight ship, our team was able to stay on schedule.
It was an indisputable success and everyone had a fantastic time. The trip was made all the more
special by the bear and hawk sightings the team got to experience prior to returning home.

These clinics are such an integral part of our mission to help control dog populations in Northern
communities and contribute to community safety. The fact that we continue to get the
opportunity to visit these remote communities to provide these services means that we are
continuing to make a difference. Thank you to everyone who supports us – without your help, we
would not be able to do half of what we do!
