Note that tax receipts may also be provided for donations of goods and supplies provided they are new, in original packaging, and are accompanied by a store receipt. As of July 21, 2014 Finding Them Homes – James Bay Pawsitive Rescue was registered under the Income Tax Act as a charitable organization, and as such is eligible to issue income tax receipts for qualified gifts, either money or goods*. The organization is obligated to adhere to Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) regulations regarding the issuance of all tax receipts. Failure to comply could result in the revocation of our charitable status.
CRA provides the following definition: income tax receipts are issued to donors who make gifts to registered charities. A gift is a transfer of property (usually cash) where the donor receives no benefit in return. The donor is the source of the gift.
We are pleased to provide a tax receipt for all gifts with a value of $15 or more. Income tax receipts are issued early in the year following the calendar year in which the gift is made. In order to issue a valid tax receipt, we must have the donor’s complete name (including middle initial if there is one) and full mailing address.
You can help us reduce our administrative costs by providing a valid email address. We will then email your tax receipt as soon as it has been prepared.

We are always in need of supplies such as blankets, collars, leashes, towels, dog crates, brushes, etc that we use for dogs being fostered as well as for dogs in remote communities. We can pick up donations, or you can drop them off at one of the locations below. We appreciate all donations, large or small.
If you drop off a donation of goods or supplies and wish to receive a tax receipt early next year, please include a note with your full name (including middle initial), complete postal address, phone number, and your email address printed legibly.

The majority of our expenses are related to providing veterinary care (examinations, vaccinations, spaying/neutering, urgent surgeries, micro-chipping, medications, etc) for rescued dogs. Our next largest expense category, travel and vehicle expenses, is related to costs incurred to travel to and conduct vet clinics in northern communities, and to cover approved expenses when volunteers rescue dogs from remote communities, often on an emergency basis.
100% of all donations are used in Ontario.
