On June 9th, players of all skill levels gathered at West Park in Keswick to participate in a baseball tournament in support of Finding Them Homes. A total of 12 teams participated in the event, which was accompanied by a Meet & Greet with our adoptable dogs, a BBQ, raffle prizes, a bake sale, and a fundraiser by the Henry team of Sutton Group real estate.

Huge thanks is owed to our umpires who donated their time and expertise for the tournament, along with James Krant who was our photographer for the day. And of course we have Fox’s bakery, CJ Barley’s, Zehrs, Food Basics, and Metro who all helped support this event. Also, thank you to our amazing fosters and fundraising team for helping bring everyone (human and canine) together to make this a huge success. Special thanks goes to Shari Macleod who, for the third time, took the lead on organizing and running this event.

Whether you supported this event by helping organize it, or simply by showing up, thank you! This tournament was such a success that we are STILL tallying!

More to follow on the total raised. And now the answer to the question I’m sure you’ve all been asking – who won??

Finding Them Homes was pleased to crown the team Deez Nutz as the champions of this year’s tournament. We hope to see them back next year to defend their title, and all the other teams, and more, to try to wrest it away!

And, just as with the garage sale event, the final tallying of funds raised was delayed due to the move of FTH HQ. But – we’re very pleased to report that a grand total of $6,705 was raised through the tournament. That’s going to help a LOT of dogs!

From all of us at FTH, thank you for supporting our shared mission!
