On Saturday, June 18th Finding Them Homes hosted their 3rd annual garage sale to raise funds. As with all of our events, the garage sale was 100% volunteer run. We had some very notable guests show up including Kool FM, the Skelton team, and, of course, FTH dogs! Because we started collecting donations back in January, there was no shortage of hidden treasures and (not so hidden) treats to be found. From furniture to board games to cookies and lemonade, just about anything could be found among our tables and tents.
Although this event was focused more on raising funds to help Northern dogs, as opposed to events such as Meet and Greets that focus primarily on getting dogs adopted, we did have one dog who was adopted as a result of this event and many more were present to get out there and meet people.
To put together an event of this magnitude is truly a collaborative effort and there are not enough thank yous in this world to adequately acknowledge all of our various contributors. That said, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU to everyone who donated items or snacks, who volunteered their time, who helped transport or watch dogs, who made purchases or just plain spread the word. To anyone who was involved in anyway, the volunteers and dogs of Finding Them Homes are so grateful for all of your continued support, regardless of what shape it takes.
In a single day, we were able to raise $3,344.30! We consider this to be not only a resounding success but also our goal to beat for next year! If you would like to see how you can get help make a difference in the lives of Northern dogs, check out the Contribute link at the top of this page.
Again, thank you to everyone who was in any way involved. It is with your continued support that we are able to continue doing what we do.
